August Rotary Corner
Welcome to the Okanogan-Omak Rotary Corner. Have you enjoyed a Rotary event and yet, you still aren't sure what Rotary is all about? We interviewed Eric Schneider, the 2023-24 President of the Okanogan Omak Rotary Club and owner of the Omak Papa Murphy’s to learn more about Rotary.
President Eric explains Rotary this way: Rotary is an International Organization of people who want to make good things happen in their communities and in the world. Some examples are we provide scholarships for local students, help to beautify the local area with road clean up, and park improvements. Internationally, Rotary led the fight to end Polio: our club provided filters to communities without safe drinking water in Peru and we’ve joined other clubs to help in time of disaster. When the 2014 and 2015 fires happened in our area, Rotary donated the proceeds of Steak night and Wine and Cheese events for survivor recovery.
Our next Rotary Steak Night Steak Dinner and auction with Music by Larry Phillips & Halloween Costume Party Contest, will be October 20th. Your $30 ticket can be purchased at Papa Murphy’s, The Attic, Rawson’s, or Freebird IGA or contact a Rotarian to get your tickets. This is going to be a FUN night at the Agriplex.
